Serving Black Transgender People in Texas Since 2019
“When you’re at the intersection of being Black, Trans and woman you’re at the intersection of intersections.
So that’s why we say when Black Trans Women are free, everybody’s free”
WHO WE ARE
House of Rebirth is a network of communities, families, and friends, bridging barriers to access alongside Black transgender women and femmes.
We work to build the safety and self-determination of Black trans communities through advocacy, housing, resource navigation, and intercommunal programs.
We accomplish this work through a coalition of allies, advocates, organizations, donors, and community members who extend time, expertise, and access. We welcome opportunities to strengthen these networks of support.
Will you join us on our mission to enhance and lengthen the lives of Black Transgender Women?

Intersectionality: The cumulative way the effects of multiple forms of discrimination combine, intersect, and overlap, especially in the experiences of marginalized individuals and groups. - Kimberle Crenshaw
Due to the intersecting identities of sex, gender, race, and class Black trans-women face a disproportionate risk of murder, violence, and discrimination compared to other trans-women and cis-gender Black people.
House of Rebirth centers Black transgender women to address the acute needs of a community experiencing an epidemic of harm.
